Section 406 PPC: Supreme Court Says Mentioning “Amanat” in an FIR Isn’t Enough (2026 SCMR 1379)
The Supreme Court held in 2026 SCMR 1379 that writing "Amanat" in an FIR does not make out an offence under Section 406 PPC, and quashed an FIR arising from a property mortgage deal.
